Sandra Zettersten, AIA, attended the German Habitat Forum on June 1-2, 2016 in Berlin. Following the Forum, Sandra, a Client Services Director for BH’s German Operations, wrote a responsive article with her thoughts leading up to the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Development (Habitat III) in Quito, Ecuador in October. Her article has been published to the American Institute of Architects website.

“Its aim is to reinvigorate the global commitment to sustainable urbanization and focus on the implementation of a New Urban Agenda, building on the 1996 Istanbul Habitat Agenda. A New Urban Agenda is urgently needed, as the current patterns of urban development are unsustainable and cities are proving unable to cope with environmental, economic, social, and political shocks and stressors.”

Her article was published on August 2, 2016 and the full article can be read online on the AIA website.
