Our Journey
Our History
Buchart Horn traces its roots to 1946, when three veterans — engineer Russell E. Horn, architect Clair S. Buchart, and business and marketing specialist Lester L. Buchart — combined their expertise to form a new kind of consulting practice. Incorporated that year as Buchart Engineering Corporation, the firm was among the first in the nation to bring engineering and architecture together under one roof. That simple but powerful idea — that clients are best served when engineers and architects collaborate rather than compete — shaped the firm’s identity and continues to guide our work today. Over the decades, Buchart Horn expanded its services, refined its multidisciplinary model, and built a reputation for delivering integrated solutions that balance technical excellence with community impact. Now a full-service international engineering and architectural firm with offices across the Eastern United States and Western Europe, Buchart Horn serves local, state, and federal government clients as well as private partners around the world. Our professionals remain committed to the founding values of collaboration, innovation, and client service — values that have sustained the firm for nearly 80 years and earned the trust of generations of clients.
