Buchart Horn is pleased to welcome Scott Stock, PE, CBSI, to our York office, where he will serve as a Senior Structural Engineer in our Transportation Group. With over 20 years of experience in the field, Scott has established himself as a leader in the structural engineering industry.
As the former Chief Structural Engineer at Mackin Engineering Company, Scott was responsible for managing the structures department and overseeing overall project management. Scott brings extensive experience in the design of new bridges and in the rehabilitation of existing structures throughout Pennsylvania. In addition to his design and management expertise, Mr. Stock has extensive experience in the inspection and analysis of bridges and structures. He has a proven track record of delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet the needs of his clients and local communities.
Scott is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and is a Registered Professional Engineer and Certified Bridge Safety Inspector. He has been involved in over 3,000 bridge inspections and has inspected over 1,100 bridges. One of Scott’s highlights from his career is being a part of the design team that rehabilitated the historic Hares Hill Road bridge in Chester County, Pennsylvania. This bridge was built in 1869 and is the last known surviving example of Thomas W. Mosely’s Wrought Iron Lattice Girder Bridge design. Scott and the team were able to save the bridge by strengthening it to achieve a higher weight limit, which led to the project winning an ACEC/PA Diamond Award.
Scott resides in West York, Pennsylvania and has a son and daughter. He loves to travel, go to breweries and enjoys the outdoors for hiking and sports. He is an avid fan of football with the Baltimore Ravens and Notre Dame teams being his favorites. Scott is also an assistant coach for a local middle school football team.
