Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Louisiana Chapter announced their 2018 Board of Directors last week at their Annual Awards Banquet. BH’s Kristen Gahagan was announced as President, and Stephanie Phillips is the incoming Secretary. Both women are founding board members of WTS Louisiana, the first in the state, with assistance of WTS International Board members and fellow chapter board members, providing more opportunities for professional development, service, and networking to women serving in Louisiana’s transportation industry.
Kristen, a licensed Engineer Intern in BH’s Baton Rouge office, has experience with a wide array of transportation engineering projects, including complete roadway and traffic design plan, specification, and estimate submittals and traffic engineering studies. She joined BH in Summer 2017 and has been a great asset working diligently on Stage 0 Feasibility Studies for LADOTD and street improvement projects in New Orleans and St. Tammany Parish.
Stephanie, a licensed Professional Engineer in BH’s Baton Rouge office, is in her ninth year with BH. Her role is the Regional Operations Manager for the Louisiana market as well as civil and municipal engineering design, project management, and construction administration. She is responsible for managing projects as well as coordinating design teams. Stephanie’s experience includes the design and analysis of steel structures, transportation and bridge engineering design and layout, traffic engineering improvement design, drainage capacity analysis, and overall project coordination through support of consultant/client relations.
