Buchart Horn is proud to join the water community in celebrating 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the landmark legislation that has safeguarded public health by protecting drinking water quality since its passage on December 16, 1974.
Over the past five decades, the SDWA has established essential water quality standards, reduced harmful contaminants, and supported water systems of all sizes in delivering clean, safe drinking water to their communities.
For nearly 80 years, Buchart Horn has partnered with water providers to ensure compliance with evolving regulations like the SDWA. From the earliest implementation of the Act to today’s challenges, our professionals have provided the expertise needed to help our clients navigate water quality standards, upgrade treatment systems, and address emerging contaminants. We take pride in continuing to serve many of these same clients today, helping them meet their goals for safe, reliable water service for future generations.
“As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act, we reflect on the progress achieved and the work still ahead,” said Scott Russell, PE, Senior Vice President of Water Resources at Buchart Horn. “Our firm’s long history of supporting water providers underscores our dedication to safeguarding public health and protecting water resources.
