The Vision

Guiding Values

At Buchart Horn, our philosophy is simple: collaboration creates better outcomes. Since our founding in 1946, we’ve united architects, engineers, and planners under one roof to deliver solutions that strengthen communities. Our work is guided by three enduring commitments: Vision & Values, Sustainability & Responsibility, and Safety. Vision & Values

Our founders believed that architecture and engineering should work together, not compete. That belief still drives us today. Our vision is to design and engineer communities that thrive  places where people can live, learn, work, and connect.

We hold fast to core values of collaboration, innovation, integrity, and stewardship. These values shape every project, from municipal infrastructure upgrades to educational facilities and public safety buildings, and they’re why more than 90% of our clients return to us again and again.

Sustainability & Responsibility

We believe every project is an opportunity to build responsibly. That means designing facilities and infrastructure that are sustainable, resilient, and future-ready.

Beyond environmental stewardship, we take corporate responsibility seriously. Our firm engages with communities, fosters diversity in the profession, and mentors the next generation of architects and engineers.

Commitment to Safety

We take the safety of our employees, partners, and communities seriously.

We maintain rigorous jobsite safety standards to protect our teams and subcontractors. Just as importantly, we design with safety in mind: from police and fire facilities to resilient bridges, roads, and water systems, our work enhances public safety, operational reliability, and community wellbeing.

At Buchart Horn, our philosophy is a framework for action. By aligning vision, responsibility, and safety, we deliver projects that endure and communities that thrive.
