Industrial Park Security Upgrades and Site Improvements, Glatfelter Company, Spring Grove, PA

The new centralized security operations center (SOC) and secured entry point for vehicles, employees, and contractors is completed at Glatfelter. This project, which began as part of a Department of Homeland Security initiative to mitigate the risk of terrorist attacks to industrial sites, has been in process since 2010.

BH provided architectural, site/civil, and electrical/IT engineering services to help relocate mission critical security and safety staff to this new facility. Also included was an upgrade of their fire alarm/notification system and analog camera systems, which were moved to digital (IP based) cameras across a new fiber optic network line.

Phase II of the project included the construction of security fencing, secure turnstile entry points, an additional manned entry point, and various retrofits of existing building areas to further secure the facility. This project stands to further solidify BH’s mission of developing and applying cost-effective engineering solutions to strengthen our communities.
