Key West Harbour is perfectly situated off the pristine shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean and the crystal clear waters of Boca Chica Inlet right off Hawks Channel, deep in the Florida Keys near historic Key West. The Key West Harbor Marina facility includes 100 water slips for vessels up to 110 feet.
Our design team performed the necessary marine engineering services for the new concrete floating dock marina facility expansion located in the basin shown to the right and in our drawing below. Our design services included the marine and coastal engineering for the floating dock system and its related appurtenances. A wind-wave interaction study was performed to understand critical design criteria during extratropical hurricane storm events. These design criteria and others were then used to determine various structural components for the new marina dock facility. Our work included the dock anchorage guide piles, dock module buoyancy calculations, vessel mooring design, and other related dock appurtenances required for construction of the new floating dock marina facility.
