Job Summary

Buchart Horn is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Business Developer with 10 years of experience to work within the Transportation Business Unit in our York, PA office.

Responsibilities:

Senior Project Management duties may include but not limited to the following:

  • Represent the firm at community and professional organization functions
  • Provide follow up to current customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Partner with management to resolve problem areas
  • Seek out new sectors of business by following industry trends
  • Put together teaming arrangements with other firms within industry
  • Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the design and/or construction management activities and personnel under his/her direction on a day-to-day basis
  • Establish scope, work plan and work schedule and ensure this is communicated to project staff and management
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the responsibilities to both the company and the client as set forth by the contractual agreement
  • Develop, implement and administer operational procedures, controls and administrative systems necessary to meet contractual obligations
  • Support and encourage interoffice collaboration for sales and production worksharing
  • Ensure that projects are conducted within budget and on schedule
  • Interface with clients on schedules, meetings and issues
  • Advise management of the project status on a regular basis
  • Anticipate potential schedule or priority delays and initiate plans for alternative actions
  • Assist in marketing and participate in project acquisition
  • Monitor performance vs. budget and develop strategies for corrections before overruns occur
  • Train, mentor and develop staff
  • Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and followed at all phase of a project in accordance with Buchart Horn’s Quality Assurance program procedures
  • Maximize profit while minimizing risk

Business Development duties may include but not limited to the following:

  • Use internal and external contacts to develop business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain networks of contacts within the industry
  • Coordinate with business development and senior management to provide firm information and proposal documents
  • Coordinate with other project managers to determine capabilities of firm
  • Lead proposal process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) a plus
  • Professional Engineers License
